Obesity (2/2): Effects On Vaccines

Maintaining a healthy body is imperative in order to prolong one’s life. One of the many reasons that health professionals advice citizens of all walks of life to stay healthy and make sure that they are eating a balanced diet is because unhealthy habits negatively affect the various functions in the body. The European region of the World Health Organization claims that "a healthy diet can protect the human body against certain types of diseases, in particular noncommunicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, some types of cancer and skeletal conditions; healthy diets can also contribute to an adequate body weight."

On the subject of obesity, it can prevent vaccines from activating the way they ought to. The Obesity Action Coalition proves that "(...) individuals affected by obesity have a very high non-response rate to vaccination." This means that these people have a heightened risk of being affected both by minor and major diseases or illnesses. Vaccines are necessary to fight against viruses, so the fact that one’s obesity will result in its failed activation is to a certain extent equal to an invitation for being harmed.

What Can I Do To Maintain A Healthy Body?

First, one must exercise. Exercise is fundamental in forming and shaping the body as well as increasing stamina and energy. To have an increase in energy is to be able to face life positively and do much more than being without stamina. Second, one must maintain a healthy diet. Food can affect everyone in different kinds of ways. Although there is the temptation to just let go and binge eat food that is so flavorful and delicious, one must show restraint and eat those kinds of food sparsely so as to not consume too much sugar or fat. Third, one must have health check ups. No one can ever go wrong with a consultation from a health professional; it is their specialty. With their guidance and consistent updates on the body, one can always be in the know and be on track in maintaining a healthy body. Avoid anything that can harm your internal system like cigarettes and unprescribed medicine/drugs.
